Part of Stamford Arts Centre Classical Season
Since their formation in 2017, The Mozartists have emerged as one of the UK’s most stylish and dynamic period-instrument orchestras. Their exhilarating programme opens with Mozart’s astonishing first symphony, written in London when the composer was eight years old, and it also contains two of the most attractive of Haydn’s early symphonies.
Harpsichordist Steven Devine is the soloist in concertos by Mozart and Johann Christian Bach, the second of which features a delightful set of variations on ‘God Save the King’, and the concert concludes with the fiery ‘Sturm und Drang’ drama of J. C. Bach’s G minor symphony.
We would like to thank Continuo Foundation for their help in bringing this project to fruition.
