THE GRAND TOUR
Sally MacTaggart, Guy Passey, Jenni Watson and Alastair Penman
A musical trip through Europe including music by Debussy, Dvorak, Bach and Grieg. Described by The Times as ‘irresistible’, Kaleidoscope’s approach is built on the distinct creative personalities of its members, with engaging programmes that blend classical and contemporary music to make full use of the versatile and expressive sounds of the saxophone. The quartet’s work has led to multiple awards and high profile performances at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and Bridgewater Hall.
St John’s has been described as the finest of the many remarkable churches along the edge of the Lincolnshire fens. Its lofty tower, with tall pinnacles and gargoyles, rises from the centre of the cross-shaped church below and is a landmark for miles around. Inside, the capitals of the pillars and arcades are richly decorated with foliage and faces. The 15th-century font is particularly notable and the light radiating from the Victorian stained glass adds an air of mystery to the interior.
